Did you know that our parent company, Essential Moves, has a sensory play programme being used in over 40 Hunter schools?
We have used our extensive knowledge and understanding of the school syllabus and education outcomes to create our school readiness programme.
School Readiness is about being “ready to learn”
Does your child:
- Follow 3 step instructions.
- Hold a pencil correctly.
- Recognise & write their name
- Hop on their dominant foot
- Beginning to skip
- Catch and throw a ball well
- Show coordination
- Do jigsaw puzzles
- Show interest in drawing and colouring
- Dress themselves
- Count one/ one correspondence
- Complete simple dot – dot games
- Love listening to stories
- Ride a 2 wheeled scooter

The Essential Play School Readiness Programme
One Hour Class!!
Tues 1.20pm or Wed 10.45am
Your child will work independently in a small group of children whilst you observe
- They will participate in games, music and directed play activities to develop numeracy and literacy skills.
- They will be given opportunities to learn how to write their name in the correct NSW font
- They will experience a range of motor planning and exercise activities to facilitate sensory integration and physical devlopment
- They will have a 20 minute free play time in our gym and play area
Our highly trained teachers will give you ideas for home to develop the skills necessary for academic success. All our teachers have formal qualifications in education and have extensive experience in either primary schools, preschools or long day care centres. Don’t be afraid to ask anyone working with your child, “what are their formal qualifications in education.”
Of course you will also receive a copy of the book for the term and a range of parent handouts on child development in this age group.
Preschool Assessment & remediation
