  • Essential Child 1: Your child is just walking, is a bit wobbly and may even occasionally revert to crawling. Activities to develop spatial awareness, motor skills and balance. Short structured sessions involving massage, body awareness, rhythm and developmental activities, including motor skills. Equipment time allows for slow and careful exploration as they learn about their body and space.
  • Essential Child 2: Your child is walking / running / Jumping. He is becoming confident in his own skills, exploring his environment. At this age he is learning to cooperate and follow directions and communicate through speech. This is an active time when they want to explore their environment with little restriction!
  • Essential Child 3: Your preschooler (between 3 and 3 1/2 yrs) is starting to have better control of their body. He is able to move and think at the same time. Ball skills are improving, as well as balance. He can follow simple dances and imitate finger plays and movement. Both floor time and equipment time is more structured.
  • 4 year olds: Is your child ready for school? Year prior to school,  minimum 4 years of age to commence. School readiness is not about how much a child “knows” . It is about being ready to learn. Being ready to retain information, socialize, listen , sit quietly , play and follow directions. Our school readiness programme does not “hot house” children by teaching facts. We develop life long skills that will foster a love of learning. A child can’t learn to write words if they can’t control the pencil. A child can’t listen to a story if they can’t sit still. A child can’t read words if their eyes don’t track well.  Go to www.essentialmoves.com.au for more information

All our teachers have qualifications in education.

Make sure anyone working with your child or advising you about your child’s development, is suitably qualified or over seen by a qualified educator. Unbelievably, some operators in the industry have no formal qualifications or experience in the education sector. All of our teachers have worked in primary schools, preschools or long day care centres. Don’t be afraid to ask the question.

EVERY ACTIVITY AT ESSENTIAL PLAY IS AIMED AT HELPING YOUR CHILD
